Target Audiece Research

The Maze Runner is a film series targeted at young adults that takes place in a post-apocalyptic dystopian world. This film is full of action and is based on the popular novel published in 2009. The target audience of this film is teenagers and young adults, like our film, however, The Maze Runner appeals more specifically to young males. In order to attract the intended audience, the film is packed full of action and uses actors most popular with young fans. Dylan O'Brien is a popular actor that is best known for his role as Stiles in the T.V. show Teen Wolf. Teen Wolf is also action packed with a large teen following. By using an actor that already has a similar fan base as the films intended audience, the film was able to attract an even larger amount of viewers within their desire demographic. The marketing campaign includes a half-hour special on the popular television channel, MTV, which is also the network that features Teen Wolf. Not only did they use a key actor from Teen Wolf but they also made a smart decision to have their special  featured on the same channel. This strategy helped gain the film a large following of young fans, especially male.

When they published a story with incorrect information, we saw why it is important to have reliable sources. The story negatively impacted their credibility and made it harder to find sources for their next story. I think the magazine project would be a good fit for me because I like to focus on the facts of a situation and I do not usually jump to conclusions without supporting evidence. I also enjoy writing but this project would be challenging to me when it comes to interviewing people. Meeting new people and asking them the right questions would be difficult an...
