Laptops were used often throughout the project for almost every step. The initial research done was done on a computer along with the blog posts to log, organize, and track my progress. The blogs were posted on Blogger through my google account. Although I have had my google account for years, I wasn't even aware that the Blogger feature was attached. Luckily Blogger was easy to use and I learned to use it quickly, especially because it was such a key part of this project. To film, we used an iPhone 7 to record as neither me or my partner had a camera and we felt that the quality would still be good enough to capture our film. In order to edit our film, we used iMovie because my partner had already used it and new how to work it as I did not. Because of this, my partner did most of the editing as she taught me how to use it and we decided together on the way we wanted to edit our film. Once our film was finished, we used Youtube to post the film as well as posting it on our blogs.

Prior to this film, I knew many films but not how to produce them and no knowledge of the way that certain techniques could create meaning. Utilizing camera angles to create meaning is a skill I developed and feel the most confident in. I found it extremely interesting how something as simple as a camera angle or lighting can be used to project a genuine feel. I also learned the importance of research when making a film. Researching other films within our genre helped significantly for us to understand how to create the mood we wanted. Other films utilized a variety of techniques and the more we looked at the more options we had to make our film the best possible way. My researching skills have developed after doing this research and will help me in the future in many aspects.

Our film engages the audience because it is a drama that displays a lot of emotion that grabs viewers attention and creates sympathy for the characters. The fact that teen pregnancy is now fairly common make sit a believable situation. Many individuals could easily find themselves in the same position and may have even already. This enables to viewers to feel the emotions that our characters are going through, which grabs their attention and keeps the viewer interested. Even though our film does not contain dialogue, our use of incidental music helps to further establish the dramatic feeling we are trying to convey. We also used dark lighting to create a more serious mood, as the characters are being faced with a serious problem. The high angle shot of Katherine on the bathroom floor is meant to represent how this issue is hanging over Katherine's head. The film my partner and I created uses some conventions in the aspect of camera angles, editing, and misc-en-scene, but also challenges certain traditional ideologies. The fact that our main character is a teenagers who discovers she is pregnant is something that is typically deemed wrong in our society. Teenagers are not expected to become pregnant and if they do they are considered irresponsible and are usually shamed by others. Even though our society expects mothers to be a certain age, there are always going to be young girls that become pregnant before they have reached this age. We feel that it is important to recognize that this happens and maybe provide some level of comfort for any young girl that finds herself in this difficult position. It is difficult enough to navigate a pregnancy at any age, but especially when you are still a kid yourself.
